MySQL ELT() Functions: Syntax

ELT ( N, string1, string2, ….. )

MySQL ELT() Functions: Description

ELT() functions returns the Nth element of the list of strings: string1 if N = 1, string2 if N = 2, and so on. You may have one or more arguments.

ELT() is the complement of FIELD().


MySQL ELT() Functions: Parameter

[table caption=”” width=”100%” colwidth=”15%|30%|55%” colalign=”left|left|left”]
Name, Required /Optional, Description
N, Required, The number of the element in the list which is to be returned.
string1, Required, first parameter is must.
string2 , Optional, second parameter is optional.

MySQL ELT() Functions: Output

[table caption=”” width=”100%” colwidth=”20%|80%” colalign=”left|left”]
Returns,
NULL, if N is less than 1 or greater than the number of arguments.
List element, Specfied element in the string list.

mysql> SELECT ELT(3,'Tutorial', 'mines', '.net') ;
