HTML dir Attribute

This HTML dir attribute is used to define the path of the text i.e. left to right ‘ltr’ or right to left ‘rtl’. These are used when necessary as some languages are written right to left in scripting.

there are three values for which it is defined

  • ltr : “DEFAULT”Left to right direction
  • rtl : Right to left direction
  • auto : Automatically define the text direction based on content given when the direction is already know
Tip : This attribute if not set than element inherits the value from its parent element
